Summer Sunset, Cave of Seljalandsfoss
The cave at Seljalandsfoss looks out to the sunset. It was a shot that didn't offer itself on my previous visits. (For a sunset shot, you need the sun to do its job.)
Once I was in the chamber cave behind the falls, it was a different world. The tour buses were heading home, the chartreuse ski parkas were gone. The cave had the roar of the falls in it as well as a misting rain. My parka was instantly wet, but it didn't matter.
This mossy chamber was like a visual mantra. It resonated the senses in that earthy, mossy way. It was just me and ten other enthusiasts. For this shot, wide angle. foreground was all emerald textured moss. The mind reaching out to the blue-black watery pool, the stream beyond, the distant, molten light show. An Iceland sunset.
